About Dr. Laura Snell

Dr. Laura Snell, a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada since 2008, brings expertise in breast and body aesthetic surgery to Ford Plastic Surgery.

Prestigious Training

After graduating from the University of Toronto’s plastic surgery residency program, Dr. Snell was awarded the distinguished Ross Tilley Scholarship for plastic and reconstructive surgery by the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons in 2008.

She then completed a 2-year Microvascular and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Center in New York City, one of the top cancer care hospitals in the U.S. and the world. During her fellowship, Dr. Snell also earned a Master of Science degree in biostatistics from Columbia University.

Leadership

Dr. Snell serves as the co-director for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto. In addition to her other clinical pursuits, Dr. Snell is interested in surgical simulation in the field of microsurgical education. She recently created a teaching model for plastic surgery residents to teach them how to perform complex microsurgical breast reconstruction in a simulated environment.
